Curve – Open Day At the Hate Fest

Good times. I am now the owner of the complete back catalogue of 90′s shoegazing, goth, industrial pioneers, Curve (1990-2005). Today I got my missing link, Open Day At the Hate Fest which was released in 2001. Like said in Twitter, for me Curve was always more interesting and fascinating than Garbage due to their darker, goth, industrial sound. Singer Toni Halliday said in interview of Volume magazine, “The difference between these two groups were that eventually Garbage is a pop band, and Curve were never a pop band.” That is probably the reason why Curve stayed in marginal while Garbage made it to the big stages. However without Curve there would have been very different sounding Garbage.  Also, without Curve, my own taste in music would have been completely different.

Visuals: Stills from the video of Fait Accompli.
Audio: Curve – Nowhere, from the album Open Day At the Hate Fest
